Rooms

The three two-storey cottages, once occupied by farm workers, are in a terrace. Each has been lovingly restored to reflect the region’s rustic character, with terracotta-tiled floors, chunky wooden furniture and lofty beamed ceilings. The open-plan interiors are light and airy, designed for family living, with fully fitted modern kitchens (complete with washing machine) and a dedicated play area/room filled with toys and books. Each cottage has a private enclosed garden and gas barbecue, for easy alfresco meals.

Casa Uva and Casa Oliva, both three-bedroom cottages, sleep up to six guests, offering plenty of space for family groups. Casa Almendra, the two-bedroom retreat, features a particularly lovely master bedroom with an emperor-size bed and opulent rolltop bath. The kids bedrooms are known as Little Explorer Rooms due to the big maps on the walls, a nice touch. All bedrooms have ensuite bathrooms and most have flexible kingsize/twin bed set-ups.

Eating

The cottages are fully equipped with everything you need to self-cater, including an oven, dishwasher, microwave and Dolce Gusto coffee machine. Andy and Nikki make it easy for you with a generous welcome pack of essentials (bread, milk, wine, yoghurts, fruit, eggs, pasta, baby wipes and much more), plus they offer a grocery shopping service to ease you into holiday mode.

Three home-cooked meals are included with your weekly stay: a first-night welcome barbecue for guests to mingle, spaghetti Bolognese on ‘Mummy Mondays’ and a pizza and film night with popcorn for kids, while the adults enjoy sangria and nibbles on the terrace. The nearby village of La Romana has grocery shops, traditional restaurants and a weekly market selling local produce.

Activities

• Relax while your little ones enjoy the extensive child-friendly facilities, including an outdoor playground, sandpit, trampoline, toddler pool, soft play, dressing up and craft sessions

• Drive 40 minutes to Alicante to visit the beautiful marina, old town, Santa Barbara castle and sandy beaches (Postiguet is very family-friendly)
  
• Visit Villajoyosa (one hour away) with its colourful fisherman’s cottages and chocolate factory
  
• Take a half-day excursion to explore the Guadalest Valley where the small fortified village of Guadalest has a 12th-century Moorish castle and quaint little streets
  
• Head to the Costa Blanca with its palm-lined beaches, zoos, water parks and theme parks
  
• Take a glass-bottomed boat trip to the small island of Tabarca – once a pirate hangout – for beach picnics and fishing off the rugged rocks

Kids

Casas Almorós is squarely aimed at families with babies and toddlers, but children of all ages are welcome. The abundance of child-centric amenities, from safety equipment to play areas, means parents actually get to relax. Older children will love the recreation room, featuring a pool table, trampoline and shuffleboard, plus the unlimited ice pops and pool drinks are a big hit. Video baby monitors mean you can sit outside in the evening while your little ones are fast asleep. Within an hour's drive, there's a whole host of activities including zoos, theme parks, water parks, boat trips and the palm-lined beaches of the Costa Blanca.

Family friendly accommodation:

All three cottages are well set up for young families and feature a kingsize master bedroom, plus either one or two other bedrooms that can be arranged as a twin or kingsize bed. One wooden cot is provided in each cottage with additional travel cots available.

Each cottage is equipped with blackout blinds, nightlights and safety features such as bed guards, bath mats, high chairs and stair gates, accommodating families with infants and toddlers. The private gardens and indoor playrooms provide secure environments for children to explore and play.

Location

Set in the mountainous region near Alicante, Casas Almorós offers a serene escape from bustling tourist areas. The nearest village, La Romana, provides a glimpse into authentic Spanish life with its parks and local eateries.

By Air:
Alicante Airport is the closest, approximately a 40-minute drive, making the property accessible yet secluded. Second is Murcia which is a 1 hour drive. 3rd choice for distance is Valencia (2 hours).

From the Airport:
The easiest option is to hire a car and so you can explore the area. Casas Almorós does not arrange airport transfers.
