Ca Dell'Era Residence
Tremosine sul Garda, Italian Lakes & Verona, Italy
Tremosine sul Garda, a verdant plateau between the lake and the mountains, is dotted with sleepy clusters of white buildings and terracotta roofs. Winding your way along the twisty narrow road, the view becomes more and more dazzling, with glistening slivers of Lake Garda peeking through. Perched here amongst an ancient olive grove near the pretty village of Pieve, this hidden gem is the perfect retreat for active families and honeymooners alike.
All of the 1- and 2-bedroom apartments, each with their own kitchen and private balcony or terrace, look out at the velvety blue lake and mountains beyond. Paths lined with lavender and shaded by flowering trees lead down to the glossy saltwater pool. And chairs and hammocks are tucked into quiet corners of the grassy garden, framed by soft hedges of fragrant jasmine. After a day of exploring bustling lakeside towns, this is the perfect escape - simply slip into one of the sun loungers by the pool and drink in the breathtaking panoramic views.

Highs
- We like the sound of the heated saltwater pool with views over Lake Garda and the surrounding mountains
- It feels secluded, but the pretty town of Pieve is a short walk away with several nice restaurants
- The location is perfect for exploring nearby towns like Limone, Riva and Gargnano – great hiking and watersports, too
- The beautiful garden looks like the ideal spot for reading and quiet reflection
- With the fully equipped kitchens, you have the independence and privacy of a rental, but with the added benefit of a welcoming staff onsite
Lows
- The gardens and pool are shared and honeymooners may want something with a little more privacy
- The 2-Bedroom Apartments have one shared bathroom
- The road up to the property is narrow with some sharp turns, but it makes for some spectacular views
- This is a peaceful area and not a good fit if you're looking for nightlife
Best time to go
May, June and September are generally considered the best time as temperatures are still high and the Lake isn't as crowded with tourists. In early summer, however, the water can be chilly. July and August are generally hot (around 30ºC) and busy. Also note that all apartments are closed in winter (November-March).
Our top tips
If you're up for a day trip, it's well worth getting a ferry from Limone to the other side of the lake and driving along the coast to Locanda San Vigilio and Garda itself; stopping in at Malcesine Castle - a stunning lakeside fortress.
