The entrance to Divina is so inconspicuously integrated into the quaint, winding lanes of Ciutadella's Old Town, you might easily trundle past it accidentally. And stepping inside, the reception of the beautifully converted 17th-century palazzo is equally underplayed – a small, high-ceilinged room, which is the only common area of the hotel. Divina is basically all about its 8 wonderful suites. Each is unique, blending period touches with eclectic styling and 21st-century tech, and feels more like a mini apartment than a hotel room, with a separate living area and kitchen. Ultra-private and chic but homely, they are perfect for a romantic break.
Should you need anything, concierge service is consciously unobtrusive yet personal, via WhatsApp. And though there's no restaurant onsite, the city's burgeoning dining scene is just a short stroll away. If you're after an atmosphere of reclusive calm this is perfect: romantic and high-end, nestled deep in Ciutadella's charming medieval centre.

Highs
- A beautifully restored period building with a stylish mix of modern, vintage and restored original features
- The super-central Old Town location, close to tapas restaurants and medieval landmarks
- Great value in off-peak months
- A breakfast basket delivered to your door, filled with best-of-the-island produce and freshly baked bread
- Little in-room luxuries including coffee-pod machines, Rituals products, Smart TVs and thick bathrobes
Lows
- No restaurant or facilities outside the suites
- No on-site or street parking available, though there are public car parks within 5 minutes' walk
- We would have liked a few other amenities if staying longer, eg slippers and music systems
- Only one suite has a bathtub, but the wet rooms are gorgeous
- No children allowed
Best time to go
While the hotel is open all year, the best time to visit Ciutadella is either side of the summer when the weather is still temperate but the crowds thin. Peak months are June to August, especially for the Sant Joan Festival when the numbers really swell. Winter provides the most tranquil time to visit, with festive buzz adding to the atmospheric Old Town.
